Using a combination of cleverly designed struts, the Tailgate Assist safely controls the opening speed and reduces the closing effort by over 50% offering a simple one-handed operation.
 
The ARB engineers were tasked with quite a chalenge designing the new Tailgate Assist. Tight tollerances between the tailgate edge and tub body meant that precision bracketry was required to allow smooth, uninterfered operation of all moving parts. Maintaining optimum strut alignment is paramount for product longevity and is achieved by using unique ball socket mounts. This style of strut mount allows for vehicle manufacturing tollerances that could otherwise drastically shorten the service life of the struts through misalignment.
